What will you get out of it? If we do our jobs, you will come to understand the key opportunities you have been missing to take your performance to a whole new level. You will identify what you want to do instead, and with my help you will actually install new, much more effective behavior. Work will become more satisfying and more fun, your key stakeholders will be significantly happier with you, and you will be a more profitable asset for your organization.
What will we do? If we work together we will face your biggest, most important challenges, and think them through together. Along the way we will change the way you work. Our target will be to get you to your business goals, as well as your professional development goals, as quickly as possible. We will meet regularly, in person, by Skype, or by phone, and keep momentum via email between meetings.
What do I provide? While we focus on the work in front of you, I act as a sounding board to help you identify what you want to change about the way you work. I facilitate conversations with stakeholders about what you do well and what you can do better. (If there’s no one it makes sense to ask yet, we have ways around that to get to your goals.) Along the way we’ll engage those people in thinking about what they can do to improve their work with you. Because I’m a psychologist, I encourage you to think out loud as you think through tasks, and we bring forward any ways of behaving, thinking or communicating that obstruct you. We designate one measureable change target at a time. We break the change plan down into small, readily accomplishable tasks that will add up to the change you want. We check-in regularly to make sure you stay on track and actually make the changes.
More about me: I'm a psychologist with extensive advanced training in cognitive-behavioral psychology, and a certified Positive Psychology coach, and I've also spent 30 years in the corporate arena, and was the CEO of a highly successful technology consulting firm. I’ve consulted to leaders in a number of different business lines such as healthcare, manufacturing, software development and telecomm companies, including Kaiser Permanente, a number of Sutter Health hospitals, Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Mitsubishi Electronics, and several startups, including Smart911 (successfully sold to Rave Wireless).
